I'm thinking subz and I want opinions!
I found this little package for a decent price. What I like about it, is I think it's kind of a cool starter package. The subs I can live with for a long time. The Amp is kinda weak, but I can always get a fatter one later down the road.
I actually had a pair of older 12" Fosgates, with same amp power, that bumped even a little too hard. I mostly listen to rock(anything before '96, if newer, it's not rock, it's crap), yet I like some hip hop(Mobb Deep, Kool Keith, Bone Thugs, Crucial Conflict, etc.). [And, please, don't give me that crap that says you need to be all about rap or hip hop to have subz, it's bull sh*t!
]
My current door speakers are alpine, and what I love about them is they put out the highest, loudest, and cleanest trebble, but any bass kills them. Yet, when they work together with subs, you can still hear them loudly and incredibly clearly, no matter how loud I had my old subz turned up!! To to refresh my orignal question, what do you think of these?
My current price limit is $500.
This whole package is priced @ $479.99 subs/amp/q-logic box

also, i dont like the look of the enclosure.
if you can, custom mold one to fit in your trunk.
it'll look a lot cleaner.
Rockford Fosgate makes good stuff.
i just bought an amp hookup kit yesterday for $100, great quality.

Cool. Putting a custom mold seems the best way to go, but how much does something like that cost?

We're in MBWorld! Mercedes Ballers World!
Yes, there are some of us who know about car audio. If you need some help im in long beach and i can help you out with whatever you need. Don't worry im not charging.
For $500 i'm pretty sure you can get a system louder than 100watts rms.
Look at ebay for a good deal!..

What I love about this car is, even when I had the last generation 12" Folsgates in my car blasting, nothing rattled or shook. Not even the 3 mirrors!! The car is rock solid, any other car I have been in with subs, atleast the mirrors shake. Germans know what's up!

Well it's still best to add some dynomate to the trunk, keep the sound nice. I got a 10" sub in a custom box with one 1 and i can kill your eye drum. I have changed out the sub over the years but this box i got back in 1997 with a cheap 10 woofer (which i blew out in 2 weeks) and i love it. I can take pics of my set if you like but i am also considering changing out my amp. Maybe at the next meet you will get a chance to hear it if i can get my car done in time and the door speaker switched out also, cause i recently blew the original ones. doh

Yeah, They kinda killed it with the gas tank behind the back seat since it acts like a sound wall. Brands in that price range? I like crossfire, us amps, memphis, MMATS, phoenix gold, and the new jbl crown series. Their alittle pricey but they would be able to push a good set of subs. what size subs are you thinking of using?
This is my system Infinity amp with 2 12" Hollywood Excursion subs..Don't really like them but they'll do for now...

Thanx for the sub references, I will check those out immediatly! Now when it comes to sub size, either 10" or 12". I had 12's before and I was happy with them, but I heard that when it comes to lesser expensive subs, 10" can be more reponsive w/ cleaner bass. is that true?
What I'm looking for is something in the price range between Pyles of Sh*t and some gnar gnar JL's. I'm stoked to get your opinion because, you seem to know exactly what your talking about!
FAT CUSTOM SETUP YOU GOTZ!

Yes, it's true 10" have alittle bit cleaner bass but i rather go with 12"s. You can get the same response from 12"s but you just need to tune and eq the system to the type of music your going to listen too. Rock doesn't have a lot of bass but im sure you want to feel the bass in the back.
You will get alot of resistance from MBworld members when you talk about PIMPING you benz. Living in So Cal kinda makes you want to Pimp your car out anyways but i think is mainly for the ladies. I don't know how old you are but i would pimp out that benz if i was you. Maybe not TIS rims but lower it, some nice silver rims with a chrome lip, custom sound system, and some tv's while your at it.

F*ck everbody else! I'm pimpin my Benzo Inuendo!! You don't like it? Too bad... You got your own Benz to worry about!
![slap](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/slap.gif)
But, you guys don't have to worry... It's not like I'm taking my car to Pimp My Ride so they can turn into some stupid popcorn machine or put tv's underneath the car for no apparent reason. She will be clean and classy, with a touch of pimp juice. It's what we in Cali call Baller!
(Actually, Baller is a '06 S-Class onj 22's, but you get my point)
BTW im 21

The thing about 10's is that they will definitely be cleaner... But if you plan on just putting a box in the trunk, you won't be able to hear the sound quality because it's trying to boom through your gas tank and metal dash.
The shop that told you to cut a hole in your dash was on the right track if you want good clean bass, but if you want loud bass, proceed with your setup. It's all about what you want. What I wanted was clean, high-quality bass. So I went with an infinite baffle setup with a single 10" mounted directly to the rear deck under the first aid kit. It will only be 200 watts RMS. The installation has been a huge pain in the ****. But it should sound good (still not done yet!).
But if you don't care about sound quality as much as you care about "boom", don't waste your time, money, and pristine dash by cutting a huge hole like I did! ha ha
In terms of those components you are looking at, for your goals, I don't think 200 watts RMS will be enough. Your trunk is VERY well sealed off from the cabin, so I just don't see how you'll get much bass in the car. I would recommend at least 500watts RMS, although that might put you out of your price range...

500E Signal Rot
$240 plus shipping, internal 200watt amp, believe its about 7" at its widest point, so it does not take up too much space in the trunk, although with the mounting options I went with, getting at the spare tire takes a bit of work, as I need to unbolt the passenger side mounting bracket and slide the plastic tire cover out.

Question
2PHAST, sick website! That will give me alot of help.
I like the subs you showed me alot so far! My question for you is, on the Infinity Basslink T, it says, "1 10" sub and 2 Radiators," when it comes to car audio, what are radiators?
