Rear Ashtray Removal?

I need directions on how to remove the rear ashtray from my 300ce without distroying anything, I seen no visible screws or bolts and need to paint it black to match my console in the front- not a wood grain fan-

I know from experience that it comes out pretty easy My friend stepped on it and popped the thing right out, so whenever I want to remove it all I have to do is pull down really hard and it comes out. goes back in fine too... Its not very finesse way of doing it, but it works

It's easy. You just open it, and push down, gently. It will then continue to open until it hinges all the way out. To put it back in. You put the bottom in and push down-it should now pivot in at the top.
If those instructions are too hard, just look in your manual, I think there are pictures.

I'm sorry, as I wasn't to specific but I meant the console part that is woodgrain as I already found out how to pop the ashtray out.

if you havent already done this, there is no easy way really... all I did was "pop" it out with a screw driver by gently prying it where it meets my radio. It's held up by a bunch of staples, beware though, the staple ends themselves will be pointing towards you so be prepared!

**** SORRY I SKIPPED THE "REAR" CONSOLE PART. BUT HEY IT MAY WORK THE SAME!
