Reset Code?

'91 300E Mercedes Benz
Reset Code?
Well after 12 weeks of failure in fixing my benz im close to driving it off a cliff.
If the battery is changed in my 91 300E, does a code need to be reset so that the car will run? It seems to be a helpful hint that when i turn on the ignition my head unit comes on but radio will not play. The head unit is not stock, it is a pioneer cd player. Please help.

Hold on a sec...what exactly do you need help with?
the car not starting or the radio not coming on?
