Its fine, but I think it would be better to get the 10w. We use that oil on all the trucks in our fleet here at Penske in denver. Several trucks so far have went over 500,000 miles no problem in the past 4 years

regular oil changes
Any oil that meets specs is fine, even discount oil, what ever that may mean, the key is always maintaining regular oil changes.
Personally I have always used Mobil 1, I like the idea that AMG uses it. I try to keep as close to factory reccomendations as is reasonable.

It bears repeating - the diesel/truck oils are also considered excellent for hard working Euro gas engines! They have a different additive base than regular gas engine oils and do an excellent job of particulate suspension and cleaning. In our older design engines, their additive package (I am not a chemist so can't give specifics) provides better wear protection than the new formulation gas engine oils. And, as you found, they are offered at a great price!
