hey chris! our last names are almost identical.. haha.
ok, back to the original help function of this thread (i dont think i'll ever have enough time to go through all 60someodd pages of this thread). My rear driver side window wont move really. it can go down, but not up,and i hear a crunching kind of noise.. it worries me and i did a search about this. It seems like the window regulator is the problem, but i dont know about that crunching sound. any ideas?

yep. the cable got loose (prob. due to plastic slider breaking) and is off track in the motor reel.....damaged, and not cost effective to repair. need new regulator & slides....common issue.....my R/R is 'fixed' closed due to same issue.....

I'm buying a '98 grand cherokee (2wd). I should be picking it up on saturday. I just need something i don't have to wrench on for a while.

by the way, since ive been on the west coast, ive noticed that there are much more older, well maintained w124s than back east. a lot of older s series around too. nice to see, coming from an area where all the kids drive mommy and daddy's new mercedes/lexus/bmw or are driving a mustang. actually there are quite a few mustangs in the bay area too
