Remembering the Hammer

This ride was the SHI and T back when I first came to Deutchland. The guys over at Jalopnik were discussing the Hammer 300E http://www.fantasycars.com/sedans/html/hammer.html and I thought I could share the nostalgia since it's one of our own.

There's a company here that will place all orders on Yahoo, Ebay Japan for you and all you do is give them the money and they deal with everything else. Japan seems to be the only place where someone can get a REAL AMG kit now in days.

So all I need to do is convert an engine over from a 560SEC? One of those spanked me a few weeks ago, and to make it worst it was an old man saying "Keep Up If You Can Youngsta"!!! Atlast now I know my my someday may be a muscle car and then I'll be whooping on Monte Carlos and Mustangs again.

Yeah a 560SEC engine fits in the 300e but it's alot of work...

Actually, remember my post about asking people if they sell their rims...Well one of them took the bait, All I gotta do is find them a stock set of rims and some $$ for their wheels. I've noted where their are 4 sets of these rims. 2 of the people that have them are in East Los Angeles (sky blue 300e and Dark Green e320), 1 is in Hawaiian Gardens (black 300e), and the other one in Alhambra (white 300e).

The red one sold on ebay about 6 months ago without the engine. The engine had blown but the guy that bought it found it and has been rebuilding it back to stock. Some guy on the east coast I believe.

I was this close to bidding on it since it did come with an engine but it was a bit expensive to get running.

Whats the big deal with the hammer rims? They look too generic to me. Like Escalade rims are worth a down payment on a new high class car but who is really trying to sport those when they can get rims that out do it in almost every way. Its like sticking to an old 8-bit nintendo and not ever upgrading to ps2, x-box, etc. To tell the truth if I wasn't ever into Mercedes and actually took the time to look at the rims I'd think they were just hubcaps.
