PB Blaster vs. The Flex disc
This weekend my plan was to change my flex disc before I die on the road. Whenever I would accelerate the whole car would grind and shake until I was in 3rd gear. So I jacked up the car put it on stands and went to work. Dropped the cross memeber and attempted to remove the bolts to luck. I even kicked the wrench no sucess. I was told by a friend to use PB Blaster, so I soaked the bolts over night. Came back in the morning still would not break loose by hand. I still had to kick all 6 bolts. Total time if bolts come right off about 45 mins, very easy fix. I have attached a picture of what was left of the old flex disc. And if anyone needs a writeup and pictures on changing a flex disc I can write it up.

Mine was and grinding thumping at low speeds. It would also make a sort of lunging when shifting from park to reverse and drive. Mine never whined. From research on the board I have also heard it cases road vibration at highway speeds. I have not been on the highway yet to see. Next week is coolant flush and oil leak fix. August is my annual car month where I fix everything and preventative maintenance.
