Dude, it's a w124 - it could have a squirrel on a treadmill instead of an engine and I'd still take it over most other cars.

Your best bet to learn about mods and where to buy parts is this forum.

Congratulations on your driving test and on having enough sense to make a w124 your first car.

Well, what do you mean by street cred? You have a benz and your young, and that alone brings some attention (mind you in my case, it has been the less-than friendly kind). Its a great car, very reliable and strong, and safe. Also a fun car to drive. Can you 0-60 it with moslers and nobels? No, if you want that a w124 is not your car. get a motorcycle or a turbocharged something or anyother of a rice rocket.

The speed feeling could have something to do with the rear-axle ratio and how much HP the car actually puts to the wheels. Sure, they may make 200hp but how much makes it there? Plus, the benz weighs alot so the inertia is greater.

That I dont know my friend... I am actually looking into it myself as I want to replace the 4 speakers in my car with rockford fosgate power speakers... Should be a nice improvement
The front-deck speakers are : 4"
The Rear-deck speakers are : 5 1/4"
Thats all I know as of right now.. I will ask my dad later tonight what would be involved in replacing the speakers.

Mercedes benz 1991 300ce(RIP), now an 89 300ce
for the dash, there a little strip on the grille you need to snap off, its toward the center of the car on both sides. then you just take off the screws that are under the strip and take off the grille

thanks for your reply, but doesn't snapping them damage the strip and all?

because turning a door handle produces more torque than a honda, maybe that's why...

i think he means speed-wise... he's young, that's all that's important,to him... it's not 'i own a benz', it's 'my benz is faster than your vauxhall'...
at least that's what the people i still know in england are all about... so damn embarassing, every time we stopped at a traffic light the moron would floor his primera whether it was a 60 year old woman or a 3 series next to us.

Go here. http://www.mercedesshop.com/Wikka/W124Stereo

and use the 'search' function at the top of the page, use advanced search and narrow it down to the W124 forum. any question you could ever ask has been asked already...
