Natural, I wanna get the same shift knob as you! Make sense with the new car and all. Let me know if you ever come across it again.

Oneill_1, my knob is darker because it's burlwood, not Zebrano. Burlwood is standard in all V8 cars (400E, E420, 500E).
Chris, I got my adapter off Performance Products, much easier to put in than a W202 shaft.

The Performance products shaft is a OE MB part, assuming your referring to the shaft they sell. I have also seen the shaft with integrated knob, not sure if thats a screw on item or if its permantly fixed to the shaft.

natural person....i was talking about your wood accents entirely, not your shift knob. i have seen some burlwood in person in other cars but not as dark as yours...dont get me wrong it looks very nice but i was wondering if it was stock because all of my other encounters didnt seem to be as dark. maybe it is the angle of the camera or absence of a flash???

Oh, sorry! Probably just the lighting + picture was taken with no flash. Now if you mean the piece for the shifter gate (inside the chrome surround), yes, that piece IS darker - it is a new ad-on I bought from Germany (www.matrixcar.de)
