Walnut is going to look like the dash wood in the pic you posted.

And here's mine!!

Sorry bad pics..

Anyway this is a W210 knob with an adaptor stem. It's a really straightforward task to switch from W124 knobs and W210s'..

It is prety similar and it maches well, as I mentioned even when I have the Zembrano Knob, I liked the Burl wood Knob with the Original Zembrano Dash better. IMO

Besides as I mentioned the Burl/leather Knob has a very nice finish and chrome adapter are of much superior quality and finish than the Zembrano Knob. Again this is in my Opinion.

If you wait until this evening or tomorow morning I'll take and post some pictures.

Yes, the forum is very slow, hence the double posts, I have cleaned those up now.

You can order the W202 shifter shaft from the dealer, 95 up (not 2000 though).

Yes, 500e with burl, this picture shows old center console wood, it has since been replaced with a new piece.

Shift knob was purchased with complete boot and shifter trim ring for roughly $2.00 plus shipping, sold the left over parts for about $10 plus shipping, came out ahead on that deal.

I can't speak for all the later model knobs, but from what I have seen, there have not been many changes to the design.

As for the wood, not many options available, you may just have to bite the bullet and order it from the stealership like I did. All of the used wood I have ever seen suffer from fading and cracking.

I am sure it depends upon the dealer, your discount schedule and the type of wood, mine was around $280 +/-, don't remember the exact number.

The W202 shift shaft is about $25 new from a dealer. Quite sure many junkyards have them for a few bucks used.

Its 'Zebrano' also...not 'Zembrano' LOL A not-so-exotic African wood.

I really dig that V8 knob...hope I can find one too off ebay. From a G-wagon?
