Wrong Headlights -_-

hey guys im pretty noob at this moding stuff but i ordered these PIAA xtreme white plus bulb 9004. i bought it on ebay a few days ago. heres the link
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT

i have euro lights on my car and wen i tried to install these i realized they dont fit at all. im extremely dissappionted because i just wasted $60. Also while ATTEMPTING to instal these lights i believe i forced the light in too much. inside the euros there is a little metal cap and it fell off into the headlight itself. please let me know what this thing is and how can i put it back and if its essential to the use of the headlights. Oh yeah and someone please let me know which bulbs to get which will fit in my euros. Thanks a lot

i remember i did the same thing. bought bulbs for the US spec headlights when I had the Euro version. I bought the silverstars from somewhere, but I exchanged it at wal-mart even without a receipt. So you can try to see if your wal-mart sells those and do an exchange.

LOL - that's exactly what I did. i stuck my 9004 silvertstars back in the package (they were 6 months old - don't ask why I still had the box, I don't know) and I walked straight in to walmart, no receipt, and I said " I bought the wrong ones, I just need to exchange these for the right ones" and 5 minutes later I went home with 9003 silverstars in hand.

my guess is you'd have to open up the headlight itself and put the cap back in, other then that i have no idea, im sure one of these guys can shead more light (hahaha) on the situation.

"Pretty noob" and PIAA go hand in hand!

The lens comes off the front of Euro lights ... which would allow you to repair the bulb cover. Take lens off carefully.

Ouch, man I'd love to help with that one but I'm afraid your going to have to put a little of your own imagination into this.

You need somthing to get that socket back in its right place.

try moving the headlight around (you're going to have to dismount) and see if you can get that focker back in its place, then see if you can find a way to make it stay there.

how was that socket on there to begin with? Was it glued or was it welded on??

The euro lenses are not glued onto the housing, so all you need to do is remove the headlight and carefully pry up the tabs that hold the lense onto the light assembly, you can then replace the cap.

awww man i gotta remove the whole headlight unit from the car?
the problem with this is that my headlight unit with the cap that fell off is the drivers headlight. its a pain in the *** to take it off being that one screw is so hard to reach. do i have to take off the headlight unit to remove the lens??

oh yeah wut bulbs are used for the fog lights on the euro headlights??

You're not a "n00b"...

From my sources ... You're ex-member LiquidG3N3RATI0N who got banned.

By the way - how's the C55 doing? I remember you told me you purchased it and I even introduced you to the AMG family and you never posted in the thread I made for you. What's the deal!?

Hi JuicyFruit, (LOOOL)

Just leave that piece in there. When opening the headlamps, you can crack the glass holders and thats not good. Don't ask how I know this!
