changing spring pads
Thanks.
Make sure you have the right spring compressor as well or you'll find it rather challenging.
The rear is a bit more tricky. For some people, You need to drop the lower mount and there is one large bolt that needs to be removed.
I'll be removing my spring pads on my car as well since the suspension on my 300E (Bilstein Sports and Vogtland Springs) are being questioned whether they will work.
Good Luck!
As you know Vogtland sells the same springs for the 300E and the 400E.
Now that I'm done with my spring pads I'll be selling my spring compressor soon : )
Can you post any pictures of how you did the process or how it looks? I'm very curious about this and still confused about how it's done. I don't know the MM sizes of spring pads. only the bump number. i.e.: 1-5
How would 1 bump spring pads looks with the stock suspension? Here's my dilemma. My 911 is obviously my sporting car and I'd like to retain my e320s as my "comfy" daily drivers so I'm shying away from doing a full suspension overhaul. However both my cars have the thickest pads so I have that 4x4 look. Changing to the thinnest pad should give 16mm of lowering, which is pretty significant.
My other consideration is to spend 1300 for the full sportline suspension. However, since I'm really just going for a cosmetic change, I'm not sure its really worth the investment. To me the ride height of the old 500e is ideal.
(Grumble, mutter, grumble)
Didn't have time to do it today. I think I'll have time (and the weather) to do it tomorrow. (I have to take it apart - again- anyways as I've thought of a modification to do).
Hopefully will post pics later tomorrow.

i don't think there's a standard size that came with all cars, it depends a lot on what the original owner wanted when they bought the car, i think...
