Crystal headlights w/ HID??

I've seen a lot of you have these headlights. Any of you put HIDs in there? From one of the sellers I see, mentioned about how HID will damage these headlights. Is it true? I don't know how HID would damage them though, doesn't HID use less wattage than regular halogen bulbs?

I mean put an HID conversion kit in those headlights without using a projector?? Without modifying the headlights? Using the reflector instead of adding a projector? Leave the headlights the way they are but instead of putting regular bulbs in there, put HIDs?

You'll end up blinding everybody coming trowards you, not to mention that it's illegal. There is a lot of good info on this HID upgrade website:

W124's
A bunch of my friends have HID kits on their W124's and they aren't blinding at all.

Just be sure you have a kit that has a upper shield on the bulb to prevent the "high beam" look or blinding of others.

Okay, well I have HIDs now on my 94 E320 stock headlights and it's not blinding at all. Lets get back to the question shall we ... will HID damage these crystal looking headlights?

HID's will not damage the housing of the crystal headlights, but that's my opinion/thought.

Thanks Chris. That's what I'm thinking as well! Anyone else with their opinions?
