Here's my LED instalation guide:

W124 LED Conversion Guide

I'll gradually add the other parts to it, but that's it for now. As for the speedo displays there's a really good site that can custom make the illuminated dials for you. Prices are around US $80 to $100. Click Here. If any one decides to get one made let me know because I would like to hear how it goes.

Oh and yes the Festoon LED lights really do work well. I use it in my boot to stop the normally hot globe from melting the plastic case surrounding it. Though their a bit too white for me as an interior light.

Finally someone has done a tutorial on how to install the LED's ... since a certain member on here (christian) lol lagged on it. Do you have any pictures on how to do the climate switches?

would i be able to use some 12 volt leds from radioshack? or does the shape of the switch kind of require the use of a resistor and led in series?

Nice write-up! I agree that those led festoons are too white for the interior, especially on a tan interior like mine. They would make it feel way to sterile...like a hospital or something. The normal yellow interior bulbs just have a nice inviting glow to them.

Hello, I am an American with a 1991 Mercedes Benz 300ce. I can not find any benz on your product page, and as EL gauges are very hard to come across I decided to contact you to see if you would be interested in it. I do not have any good pictures at the moment, but I hope the images I have attatched can be of assistance to you in this process.
The white gauge is OEM style, though most of the American spec do not have the KM/H on the gauge. The rest of the white gauge is correct. I prefer this style the most, but would probably like to not have a white face unlit, I would prefer black face unlit. As for the color of the numbers, I am unsure what is even possible. Please get back to me with any information you may have.
Myself and a few other members on a mercedes forum are interested in EL gauges and I was referred to your site so I figured I would see what you have.
Thanks so much for your time,
Brett Carlock

I am awaiting a response. If you guys have suggestions, please tell me so I can put them into the emails to this company if they do respond.

First response, very fast!
-----------
Hi my friend,

We have a new design which we call it the VX Version. It is more of a Sporty + Classic deisgn with the illumination starting from the center and fades away as it approaches the edge of each face panel. This design is selling very well in Asia.

I am attaching a pic of the VX Version design for W124 Masterpiece version for your reiew.

I am also attaching a pic of the Miles per hr (MPH) version to confirm we have the design and if you and your friends are interested in purchasing it, we will go ahead to redesign and calibrate the MPH version to feature the VX Version design.

thanks,

It is great to hear from you.

My reply
------------
Hello Victor, thanks for the incredibly fast reply! I have looked closely at both images, and I have a request that might be a bit of a pain... I find that I like how the VX version is black and red, its very clean looking. My only issues with it is the lack of the economy bar and the KM/hr only. I find that the white style one has the best fit for my car, but I do not really like it being white background. Would it be possible to do a mph version with the economy in the style of the VX gague? Or how about the white style gauge with black instead of white? Sorry for the requests.. I am kinda fussy about my car, I hope you understand. I have posted the images and your reply on the forum so that other members may see the quality of your work (very good), and the very professional and thorough reply you sent.
Thank you again,
Brett Carlock

My follow up, because i am tired and cant read
--------------------------------------------
Wow, I apologize, its 3am here and I am not quite with it. I mis-read your email, so I like the idea that the VX version would be recalibrated to the mph. Along that line, would you also be able to put in the economy meter on the new VX mph version as well as the km/hr in a smaller script? Also, the stock gauges has a shift or gear indicator. It can be seen on the pictures i sent you on the white gauges in the cluster as red dots between the mph and km/hr numbers. This isnt necessary, but its a nice thing to have
Thanks again,
Brett Carlock
(hopefully I am not as tired at the time of our next correspondance)

Yes Chris I'll put the climate control guide online next week. I'll leave a post here to let you know when it's done.

would i be able to use some 12 volt leds from radioshack? or does the shape of the switch kind of require the use of a resistor and led in series?
Sorry CCR1612 but if you're referring to the type of LED below than the answer to your question would be no they won't fit. But you might be talking about some other LED as there are some very new ones that work at different voltages, though they're generally not very small. Post a pick and I'll tell you if it can work.

Also thanks for the posts Saijin_Naib, I didn't know they made the VX version for the W124 . The only things still holding me back from getting one is that they have their logo illuminated on it and they don't supply illuminated dial arms? Do they??? Please still keep us posted on the updates though.

No problem I expect another reply sometime today. Not sure when, donno what time it is over there. Thanks for the LED guide. It seems much harder than I thought... Do you think you could post some more pics of the lit switches. Also, is it possible to do the ones on the doors? Or is that really hard to get to?

I'll do the guide for the door switches to, but I don't think there much harder. To get to them you just lift off the plastic moulding around the door handle inside the car.
Do you think you could post some more pics of the lit switches.
Sure what shots where you after?

I like it Is there 2 different bulbs for the shift selector, so the selected one lights a different color?

No, just one bulb to illuminate the gears. In my experience the hardest switches were the climate control and the window switches. The one of the soldering points on the window switches is hard to get to.

Awesome write-up I fear that I have a different climate control though, so I donno what would happen if I try and tackle this on my own :C No, I havnt ordered it yet, I am going to write them again with some more questions, but I honestly think that I will order the new gauge, so long as they put the economy thing back on the bottom left circle lol

I would love to redo all my instrument and dash lights with ultra blue or ultra white, the yellow is getting old, as far as the instrument panel coloring goes i would love to have flat black backing with chrome needles and white lettering

I've heard all you’ll get is some Blue LED’s, so 25+ Euros sounds quite pricey.
