I still think you better think hard about the color change....if you skimp and don't spend 5K on the paint, you get beige sills, trunk, engine bay......orange peel, etc....makes your car worth less than stock.

my budget for the paint is right at 5k, and I plan on doing the majority of the prep, so I'm confident that the final finish will be every bit the quality of the original, short of the color not matching the VIN, but then again, that didnt factor into any of the other mods.

Im a huge fan of the Black, but trying for something unique, although I would like to stay with a mercedes color, but one from recent years. Actually that lightening blue keeps coming back into my mind. Im trying to remember, who is it that has the deep blue W124 on this board? Id like to get another look at his color.

Well, I've been lurking for awhile now...trying to soak up as much knowledge as possible. I just picked up a pretty nice '95 E420. It happens to be midnight blue (Mercedes color). Not sure if you were looking for something that dark however. Still, I'll grab a picture or two in the next day or two and post it for you.
