Loss of power but no stalling

Hello,

I have been experiencing loss of power when accelerating. It's as if something is holding the car back. The car idles perfectly and never stalls. The car is a '90 300E with the straight six 3.0 litre.

Could it be a clogged catalytic converter? It's the original.

Cheers

Loss of power and/or almost stalling when accelerating can just as well be the fuel distributor, some sensor, leaking or glogged injectors, etc. etc. I would advise you to get qualified help before you start changing parts out just like that. Believe me I've learned the hard-cash way with various cars...

Could also be your kickdown switch, and you may not even know it.

I was having similar problems, replaced kickdown switch and bingo -back to normal
