First and foremost, can't begin to tell you how useful this site has been and if no one has said it yet today... THANK YOU.
Now... My issue. My climate control & center consol is not lighting up. Yes my Instrument cluster is lit up and the dimmer is working fine. It's just the climate control, window switches, & center switches that do not light up.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Check them by pulling them out and looking at them under a bright light. If they are corroded at all, change them. do a search in this forum to find out why. They can be blown and look intact, hence the bright light to look at them.

Over Voltage Protection behind battery, but I dont think it has anything to do with what's going on with your car.

Probably blown fuse in rear of instrument cluster or other open circuit within cluster. If you remove cluster(special tool recommended) and look at the back, there is a little red fusible link that looks like the bulb housings, only red. It may be blown. Cheap part (#201-546-00-25).

I will check that.... thank you.
Just out of curiousity, I currently don't have the radio installed. Do you think that could cause a problem with the circuitry of those instrument lights??

I have the exact same problem, all of my instruments lights work except for climate control and gear selector.....what gives??? My radio lights up too.
Sure enough, I pulled the intrument cluster and that red fuse was blown! I really hope this solves the problem.
Obviously this little fuse is a dealer item only?
Thanks for the help! I'll keep you updated.

did u remove the instrument cluster or the guage cluster? YOu can get a fusable link at any auto parts store.
I did remove the instrument cluster. Wasn't really as difficult as I was expecting.
I did order the fuse today from MB and I need to pick it up on Monday. Hopefully this is the culprit... I'll let you know.

Well we fixed it! Thank you everyone for the help.
I was infact the Red Fuse on the back of the instrument cluster. Now all is nice and bright.
Thanks again!

Guys might not see it if they don't go to read how the OP resolved his issue.
So start a new topic under your own heading for assistance
