I'd stick with some sloted rotors, since they don't crack. If you go on the e55 board, those cars with factory drilled rotors, they crack all the time. If you get some powerslot rotors, those should be more than enought to handle a 190E. Ive got sloted rotors and stainless brakelines on my TE and they are a great duo.

where to get some slotted rotors then? I'm sure as a daily drive i wont generate enough heat to make full use of the drilled rotors, but I just wanted to get them to show off something nice with red painted calipers

Regardless what you decide to get you also need to get a semi-metalic or carbon-metalic pads because they'll eat straight through the organic oem pads. Look up Hawk or EBC to see if they have pads for your application.

My stainless lines I got through Performance Products, and my slotted rotors came on the car
but you can get them at performance products too. I'll look around for some links.
Stainless Lines... NICE

Tire rack has the rotors for 96 bucks each rotor for the TE.
Various prices/choices here>

I've heard good things about the cryogenic freezing of metal parts, such as rotors, it aligns the molecules in a crystaline structure to create a stronger material.
RE: pads. I have heard of some new pad materials that are non metallic, they are ceramic. Thus there is lighter color brake dust, and the dust doesn't eat the finish on your wheels like the standard pads do. Anyone hear of these?
