E-Code corner lenses installed- Pics

Just thought I'd follow up on the thread I started about european corner lenses. I was able to get ahold of some (thanks jeff). Here are some pics. I'm happy with them- the contrast is very unique.

Thanks doods. Btw, after I took these pics I realized that the driver's side lense was only partially snapped in. I took these at my parents' house, which is like a 30 min drive from where I live downtown. I'm lucky it didn't fall out!!

lol, that got jacked a long time ago. And probably 3 visits to the mechanic ago, the guy put the wrong nut onto the back of the flat badge, and it almost fell off. I have been too busy working on my car stereo and spending money on maintenance to fix it.

Eventually, I'd like to fill all of the badge holes on the grill and have it re-chromed. I like the look of no hood star, but I also want to keep my car's original feel. So I don't think I want to do anything to drastically redesign the grill. Anyway, I'm one of those guys who has way too many projects going on at once, so I've tried to put that off. It looks kind of crappy as-is, but I'm not too worried about it.

I like the dark orange E-Code corner lenses too. I'd get a pair if I had a pre-facelift W124.

Lookin' good !

Thanks for the kind words.
Your wheels look especially nice because the offset is perfect. Are these the monoblocks from tire rack? If not where did yo get them? What is the size and offset.

Thanks.

I actually got them off of ebay. Unfortunately, I haven't the foggiest who makes them, lol. IMO, the ones at the tire rack aren't very good replicas. The holes are too big.

These wheels are 18x8 all around, ET 35. I'm running 225/40/R18's, I believe. You have to roll your fenders to get these to fit, and there is a very very small amount of rubbing when you turn the wheel full ****. Other than that, they're a perfect fit. IMO, the rears could be a little closer to the fender, so maybe someday I'll get small spacers for the rear. Probably won't though.

Thanks for the comments, guys.

The E-codes look good !!!

I personally would probably want to have plain white ones, since my are the stock yellow ones...lol !!! But then again, never got to see the E-codes in real life.

Looks good on your car though !!

yeah, I went from the stock yellow to the stock 94/95 lights. I had those for a couple of years. For some reason I've never been totally excited about clear corners. I don't know why. Maybe because they don't provide enough contrast. I dunno.

I like these cuz they contrast nicely and they're unique. They don't blow my mind, but I definitely like them.

no prob, man. I'm afraid I can't be of much help with the monoblocks. or monoknocks, excuse me! I bought them off of ebay. The wheels have no indication of who they were made by. I just looked in my ebay history- I bought these rims like 2 years ago. I'm not positive, but I think I bought them from ebay user "jett_sale2003". I just looked through everything he has listed, and he has a few monoblock replicas up, but they either won't fit a mercedes or they are the wrong offset. I got brand new tires and wheels from him for around $1,200 total, I believe. Note that he claimed the wheels were balanced, but they were not. Well, the guy stuck the little weights on there, but it's clear that he just slapped them on randomly. They were WAY out of balance. So I had to have them redone. Not a big deal.

As far as my euros, they are TYC's. Out of the 4 main brands (Depo, TYC, Bosch, and Hella), they rank probably 3rd or 4th in quality. Deop and TYC are pretty similar. They work completely fine. I bought them from www.katmac.com. Be carefull cuz he will sell you bulbs that are over-wattage. They melted my connectors (you may remember my thread from a month or two ago). It took a few years before this happened, and it's a pretty easy fix to upgrade the sockets so that they won't melt. Also make sure you go to your local auto parts store and get some "chrome tape". Use it on the gray spray-painted panels within the light to give it a more shiny/reflective look. It helps make the lights look more like e500e lights!

Let me know if I can help any more.

Awesome. Do the ceramic connectors come from the katmac site, or did you purchase those from somewhere else? I found some hella/bosch euros on german ebay (sieg heil!) but I donno about the connector adapter 4-6pin :C
