Do you know where those pics came from? Are they current or pulled off the web?
Reason I ask, all the original hammers [1986-1987] were sedans if I remember correctly. It would be good to see a rear view of the car, or dash to get the answer. More likely a Brabus or AMG but not one of the Hammers.

I spent a bunch of years doing photography as an avocation on the side but have not really taken much of the cars. Here are a few from this past year. The Family portrait has the SEL in front, the Sportline hiding behind it and the Katrina Project 500E on the trailer. That 500E is now totally stripped to individual pieces for a complete restoration after its time in Hurricane Katrina. It is going to get a bit of a makeover with some replacements in Carbon Fibre, some engine enhancements and other toys to lighten it, speed it and make it a better all around car.
The Bornite 500E in the sunset pic has over 200,000 miles and is running strong. It only needs some paint work to make it complete. The SL, on the other hand, is going in for a complete rework once the Katrina car is done. I only have room [and money] to do one at a time.

It's definitely an AMG Hammer engine & I have heard stories of "special" cars that were produced for "money falling out of their ***" clients in the Middle East. This could come from the "rainbow sheik's" collection.

the car is legit. the sotry I heard on it was that the car came to california but the owner could not get it titled in california due to smog laws and sold it to someone in nevada.
There were many more pictures I have seen of this very car too before.
The underpanel is also entirely covered with aluminum panels for wind drag streamlining.
If I had the money I would have so bought that car, and then bought another red 300ce, and titled the regular one and drove this one with the plates on it.
Thats what I would have done.
