blower?

I just about had enough...My squeeky blower sounds like its gonna seize at any minute....Can the bearing be oiled or do I have to invest in a new motor?I still have the water pump to do. So i really dont want to send a ton of money on this just to turn around and spend more money on the water pump.

260E , 1989 (for now)
You could try a bit of oil (automatic tranny).
It could temporarily fix the problem....for a week or a year.

Well jobs done it took about 2 hours in total to finish...cleaned and lubed.I will have to address this in the future. No squeeks theres slight click.I think I let it go to long with dry bearings.I just want it to make it til spring or summer.

I just took mine out last night and oiled it with turbine oil. It wasn't squeaking badly, only a little during braking. It was one of the most difficult tasks I have ever done! Beware- the '95 is not quite like the pics. There is this thick rubber piece attached to the wiper motor that makes everything difficult and the wiper assembly itself is almost impossible to remove. Anyway, it sounds like yours was fairly easy. Any good quality non detergent oil, NOT WD-40 or spray lube, should be OK.

I ended cleaning the motor with WD40 and a tooth brush and then sprayed it down with chain lube from my motorcycle...

That should do it! Let us know if it starts squeaking again.

I read somewhere that one has to oil it twice. "Yeah, right" I said. After the first oiling the squealing came back...took it apart again, second oiling, been good for 5 months now : )
