17x8.5 with 245's will they fit?
Today i bought these AMG monoblocks off of a clk 55. The guy didn't know the offset and stuff and neither do I, at this point. his clk has the dual head lights, the ones after 95.
I just found out, the fronts are 17x7.5 with 225's which will fit no doubt, maybe a little fender rolling, but my car isnt lowered as of yet. But the rears are 17x8.5 with 245's
THAT is worrying me. What can be done? my car will be lowered in spring so what can be before lowering and during or after to prevent rubbing.
Appreciate the help.

The offset is the most important factor. It is stamped on the inner part of the wheel itself. It often says "ET" then the number. You should hope for something in the range of 35mm. The rears will probably fit if they are ET35's, but the tires are gonna rub. They're too wide.

I just checked them out

The rears are ET 30
So what are my chances and what are my options ? Can i run 235's in the rear or will that be weird for an 8.5" wide rim !!

1989 Turbo Technics AMG 300CE 3.6
I have these on my 300CE but I swapped the 245s for 255s. The rear was lowered 40mm using custom springs and the wider tyres stuck out past the body so I had to roll & flare the fenders. No problems now though.
If you keep the stock ride height and 245s you shouldn't need to roll the fenders.

Just for reference, 225 is the tire width in millimeters (which you know) so 225mm is 8.86 inches, the second number that comes after the 225/ is the sidewall aspect ratio which means that that number is a percentage of the cross section/s size so if the tire size is 225/50 the sidewall is 50% of the 225 which would make it 4.43 inches thick and obviously the last number is the wheel size in inches
The bigger the rim you have usually the thinner the tire you need, this improves road grip up to a certain point but the thinner the tire the less air you have between the road and your wheel which means you get a rougher ride, the thicker the tire the more sway you will get meaning that the sidewall will flex when you turn and your handling won't be as good as with a thinner tire but the ride should be more smooth, you also get more grip with a wider tire because you obviously have more area of the road being covered by more rubber
Anyway, that said you should be fine with a 225/50 17 even if the car were lowered 2 inches as long as you have the right offset which you can calculate here
