The difference between M14 and M12 bolt is that M14 bolt is larger than M12 by 2MM. If the wheel uses M14 bolt the hole would be larger by 2mm compared to wheels that uses M12 bolt hole. But, since the wheels are hub-centric and the bolts had ball seat, it would fit because the hub-centric wheel would mate centered to the hub and the ball seat of the M12 bolts will also mate centered on the M14 wheel hole.
Your main concern should be the width and offset of the wheels.
Good Luck!

If you use factory wheels with M14 bolt holes, you need to use custom wheel bolts, that have M12 thread but with M14 ball seat. The M12 lug bolt ball seat is smaller and SHOULD NOT be used with M14 holes as the size & shape of the contact area is different.
The hybrid bolts are available from this vendor:

Warning... the info above only takes care of the lug bolt issue. You still need to determine if the width & offset is correct for the 124.
Based on the info at this link:

...I don't think these will fit a W124 chassis without spacers, at least up front... or it will be a very, very close fit between the tire and the strut tube. Looks like a 5mm hubcentric spacer should work up front. You'll need to roll the fender lips front & rear too. Otherwise I think they will work...

Yep, this style is also available in 17x7.5 ET46:
http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/mer...egin_wheel_906
Use a 225-45-17 tire, and I believe those will fit with zero modifications, no spacers required, and you shouldn't have issues with rubbing. They're available new for approx $410/ea from MBFL. The wheel will be very close to the strut tube but there should still be a few mm air gap.
I have no idea how common these are, or if you'll be able to locate a used set. Keep in mind that if used wheels need to be repaired or refinished (can be $100-$200 each!), the total cost can quickly skyrocket... making new ones look like a relatively good deal. Ideally you would find a mint set locally but that doesn't always happen...

Thank you for the confirmation. They are not all that common but generally disliked, however I think they would look good on a W124. But I dont want spend as much on a set as a set of AMG Aero's would cost, so Ill have to shop around.

edcarls make a note matey - use 12mm in a 14mm bolt hole at your own risk.
The ball seat is bigger by 2mm which mean the bolt will seat but not fully !
There will be an area around the circumference of un-filled "ball seat" for want of a better phrase.
That can lead to movement during the tightening process and have a bolt that is incorrectly seated with a bias towards one side.
It is not a good practice at all !

My old Coupe wheels were 10 Spoke MB C Class.
But yet to be revealed, cause they haven't arrived yet, some very nice periodic retro's - very rare and look great IMO.
But no - I am not sharing on this thread.......

Newbie
18" rims and 225/40 Fr 245/40 Rear
I bought my 1995 MB E320 with 84000 miles on it in april 2011 and have been very happy with it. Two weeks ago I replaced the original 15" Front & Rear alloy wheels ET44 eight hole rims
http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/mer...ole_wheel_1229
with a set from a CLS550 18" rims and 225/40 Fr 245/45 Rear
Front alloy wheels: 18x8.5" ET28
http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/mer...poke_wheel_737
I had to have the rear wheel fender rolled, it was touching it whenever I hit a bump, after that, no more touching, scraping or any sort of problem, happy with the wheel & tire combo.

It depends on ride height and the tire size you choose. But with 215/40-18" up front you should run clear of rubbing, unless you slam the car to the ground. And even if you should slam the car and get some rubbing it will be so minor that it is easily fixed with a fender roller or the AMG fender spacerkit installed.

Okay I have the measurements of the stock wheels and tires vs. the W220 S / CL 600 17" wheels. Can someone tell me of its acceptable and will fit?
