some sort of electrical problem...
so last month, i went through the whole OVP thing--replaced the ovp and abs relays, new battery, new starter...my alternator was pretty new, so that wasn't replaced but tonight, as i was driving on the freeway, my cd player stopped playing, and the abs light came on, along with the srs. then, the lights got dimmer. i hit the right turn signal, and the clicking sound was weak, the signal was weak, so i pulled off, and the car slowly died.
after waiting for the tow truck, i tried to see if it would start again, and it did, only to die again.
what causes this disorder?

My SRS light and ABS light would come on under heavy electronic load (HVAC, Radio, Rear Defrost, Wipers all on at the same time) it would go away (the idiot lights) if I were to shut on of the following things off.
Try double checking your battery as well as the fuses.
It all went away with a new battery.

ABS light will come on at a low voltage reading.
Take a voltage reading across the battery terminals with the engine off.
You should read high eleven to mid twelve volts.
Anything below eleven volts will indicate a low charge on the battery.
Start the car and read the volts across the battery once again.
You should read over thirteen volts.
Low battery voltage with engine off, good charging voltage with engine running will indicate a bad battery.

of course I will assume there is no corrosion in the cables preventing a good recharge from the alt. to the batt.
consider the voltage regulator, if its not aloowing full current, you might be fine with a light load, but with higher demand you discharge the battery...I think we have an internal regulator, unfortunatly, so if you can remove the alt. and disassemble....the regulaor is cheap...but it does take a little mech.ability (not too much though).....most modern internal units are only a triple-diode set, and usually one of the diodes fry...(low/med./high)....last time I did this on a GM car, the diode set was $9......and the labor was 15minutes on the bench.....but, for our cars I dont know,
can anyone expand on this...I too would be interested in more info on our charging system..

I'd think that's the alt. Happened to me on one of my previous vehicles...
You can try disconnecting the battery while the car is running to see if it's actually running off the battery and getting no charge.

howdy y'all!
so i took it to the mechanic (towed 20 miles hehehe) to get fixed. mechanic changed some cable that was frayed, which solved it...
for about half a day! then the cd player began behaving like it did before, and the abs/srs lights came on. i have a feeling that, as chrisdpham said, it's just as simple as the fuses grrr
we'll find out later today hahaha
