mine are anchored to the interior of the engine compartment - I lost one on the highway - they are a really cheap plastic - the clips do not snap in like the factory ones.

the sylvania silver bulbs that flash amber would help with that...
if you mean painting the whole chrome surround black, i think it won't... you could always post a nice pic of the front and someone could do a quick photoshop/paint sample.

^yeah, i have the chrome bulbs that flash amber...i like the color cause its not a regular ol' orange/amber that you see...it is a lil darker...
your grill insert looks a lil blue in the small pic that you have in your sig...i would have to see a closer up pic to give you some advice....
