16" Wheel upgrade to E420
Y'all-
I've been on the trail of the 16" 8-hole wheel that was stock on euro version of the E420 in '94 & '95 for about 18 months. I like the stock look. I figure the German designers know their stuff and most of the other options for wheels don't (IMHO) look that good.
Anyhoo, I finally got the right part number and located them as they are Germany only part. When I ordered there were 18 left.
Wheels will arrive this week. I ordered 205/55/16 Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position from Tire Rack and they arrive at Tru-Line Frame & Wheel in Seattle tomorrow.
We're doing the idler arm bushing, right tie rod assembly and steering dampener and alignment on Friday.
Looking forward to logging some nice road time and getting use to improved handing and driving characteristics.
If the weather cooperates, I'll post some shots of the new set up if anyone is interested.

After those I installed a set of 8 hole 16" R129 wheels, then chromed them. The latest R129 wheels I used were the 17" inch sport wheels. All R129 wheels will fit your E's you just can't fit the same tire sizes and do any lowering without rubbing.
This is a group picture of my W124's. the black one has 17x8.25 R129 wheels, the white one behind has chromed 16' 8 hole R129 wheels and the 500E has stock 16" 8 hole wheels. I'll see if I can dig up a picture of the 15 hole R129 wheels on the black car. They are now on a 93 300E 2.8 belonging to one of my customers.
