updated seats in my 300e

Hi all,

Just finished changing my seats out in my '89 300e. The donor seats were from a '95 e320 and they have the heated seat option. The rear seat and passenger seat were a direct swap. The drivers seat was a different story. I had to swap out the main board that the wire harness from the car plugs into. Has anybody successfully added heated seats to a w124 using the stock parts? Does anyone have a list of the parts needed?

Sam

I don't have an answer for you, but a question. Where did you get your driver's seat? Mine is identical to that (sans heater) but is very worn. How much could I expect to pay for one like that? Looks great!

I got lucky at a junk yard...car had just come in. I have seen the center arm rest on ebay going for over $200. I got front and rear seats plus the center front arm rest with the phone compartment for $150.00

Did you swap the doors too? I don't think the 89's came with that interior !!

Where do I find that center armrest and the sliding thingi underneath it.

The seats look very good. In fact the interior looks very darn good.

Good show mate !!

I had replaced the door panels about a year ago. They orginally came with the zebrano trim pieces but I changed to the burl wood trim pieces. The console trim pieces are also burl wood trimmed.

I think I am done with the interior (unless I find a burl wood and leather steering wheel).

Now it's time to finish up the outside.

Mods completed -

500e headlights with adjuster
color coded mirror covers
94 style door handles (black-chrome)
avantgarde grill
94 style clear corners and rear tails
color coded front and rear bumpers

Mods planned -
94 style door moldings (have them, just need to color code to car)
94 trunk lid (at paint shop)

Sent you a PM nice update, how did you swap the switches/plugs on the driver's side? I can't figure out out how to do this, the original has 2x plugs whiel the 95 has 3x plugs and the main plug being a different size etc

How are you swapping the trunk out into your 1989 300E?

I know someone who has tried it and it does not fit apparently. Curious how you're going to go about installing it.

as my previous post described the seats that I upgraded to are heated and would now like to go ahead and use this feature. Does anyone have a parts list needed...harnesses, relays, switches and their associated part numbers? Those of you who have completed this task please chime in...your input will be appreciated.

Also taken from another forum:

In the MB WIS system (werkstattinformationssystem) there is under group 91.30 a document labeled 91.09 "Installation Instructions for Special Equipment - Seat Heater for Front Seats" which is illustrated and very comprehensive.

It lists SA 56154 which is the controlling document for this system and the number used to look up parts for this retrofit.

Does anyone have access to this system? If so can some post this section or email it to me
