Killer Keyless

So, a few weeks ago I bought a keyless entry system off of ebay. It has the "german" or Audi looking flip key fobs and the electronic box ties into the factory pneumatic vacuum pump under the rear seat. It is a slick operation and was not hard at all to install. The TE's are a little more difficult than the sedans since inorder to access the pump(passenger side) there is carpet to pull up under the rear seat unlike in the sedans.

I finally got around to finishing the wiring this weekend and DAMN is it nice to have keyless in this car.

Yeah, maybe this weekend. I dunno if I'll do pics though, cause I hate to tear it all apart again. I could do pics in a few months when I am done with this quarter and put the same system in my mom's E320. Maybe sooner If I need a break.

I've witnessed the sweetness of his keyless. A must have if you got the cash money.

Sounds like a sweet setup...I did the latest Viper alarm with keyless and bump sensors/glass break etc...I would never go back to key operated locks

Is it possible to hook up shock sensors to the stock system?

Not that I'm aware...the stock system doesn't have that type of "brain" to register and trigger the system. All the stock one does is go off if the system is unlocked without the key when locked.

One of the German options was a oil heater that would warm the car before you actually went off for the day.

I have seen this on two different w126 euromodels, a little computer screen in the center console that you program to come on at certain times and temps. It is made by Webasto, and uses either diesel or gas to heat the coolant in the car which keeps the motor and interior toasty. very slick.

you can still buy these systems from Webasto, they also make seat heaters, and the ragtop sunroofs, also found in the old Ponton models.

Here's some more keyless keys.
They're a little more because shipping is $12 not free but the blanks are usable on a 124.

They are also available on ebay.

really? They are all practially the same thing, just different keys I would assume.

I believe that the w126 and w201 share the same blank, I would check, and then just order one of those

I ordered this one yesterday. A bit more but tired of unlocking the doors after someone tried to break into my car a few years ago.
