Keyless Entry Writeup
I have a 1989 300E
First remove the bottom panel under the steering wheel. I didn't record this step because I had taken all the interior out for cleaning already.
1 - Remove the floor mat and carpet. On the far left of the footwell is a black plactic compartment holding wires. Gently cut open the old sticky taping. Locate the wires coming from the door. On mine it was a blue, brown and red wire.

Pic 2 - Picture of wires in floor

2 - Cut the blue wire in half. Connect white wire from harness the end of blue wire leading to the trunk.
3 - Connect Orange/Black wire from the harness to the blue wire half leading to the door.
4 - Connect Orange wire from the harness to the White/Black wire from the harness (Yes connect the two wire from the harness together).
5 - Connect Yellow wire from the harness to the black wire from the harness.
6 - Connect Yellow/Black wire from the harness to the red wire from the harness.
7 - Connect purple wire with two yellow ends from the harness to the parking lights. One yellow end from the purple wire to the Gray/White wire from the back of the light switch. The actual light switch where you turn on the lights. The other yellow end of the purple wire from the harness to the Gray wire from the back of the light switch.
Pic 3 - Harness connected to the back of the light switch.

8 - Connect the black wire from the harness to the vehicle ground. I personally used the same ground as I used for the radio.
Pic 4 - Ground wire run under foot well to chasis ground.

9 - Connect Red wire from harness to 12V constant power supply. Again I used the same 12V power supply from the radio.
10 - Attach harness to the chassis. I said to place as high as possible for better distance.
Pic 5 - Harness attached to chassis

I routed the antenna for the harness through the driver side speaker hole. I will be doing some testing to see which position gets the best distance.

I have 4 keys to the car, so I will grind one of them down so it will fit in the supplied flip key. I Don't like the material the supplied key blank is made of. And plus I don't have to find a place to get a laser cut a key.
I have 3 concerns.
1 - Only the parking lights in the front flash. Not front and rear.
2 - The unlock on the remote locks the car, and lock on the remote unlocks the car.
3 - The horn doesn't honk when doors are locks. (Does anyone know how I can make the horn honk).
Enjoy and hope this helps others.

I also noticed that if you lock the car from the outside using the key and try to open a door from the inside handle it will trigger the alarm (good for when you don't want to roll up the windows or put back the sunroof) also if you hold the key in the lock for 3 seconds and keep it held there it will close all windows and the sunroof automatically, will all of these features work with this key less system?

mine does the same thing yours does as far as the alarm... basically if you lock the car with the key... you need to unlock it with the key or the alarm will go off.... i.e.. lock with remote and unlock car with key and open door,,, honk honk honk....
in all honestly i am not really sure if my factory alarm activates if i use the remote.. to lock the car.... ill have to look at the alarm light later on...
also... i dont believe mine power up power down windows work.... which is fine with be because i rarely if ever use this option on my newer car....
other options i have are trunk release and remote starting.......
what brand are you guys using?
mine is a clarion product name ungo

For the W124 chassis, I recommend using my method, as it covers the door locks and integrating the factory alarm. Do keep in mind that there are some variances between model years, so also reference the write up on mercedesshop.com as well.

and I want to use the factory alarm function of my car with the keyless entry. One quick search later and I have all the info I need. I think. All I've ever done are car stereos, so we'll see...
Will the factory immobiliser prevent the remote start from working? I hadn't thought of this 'till now.
