I don't have the entire brochure scanned, but here are some pictures from it.

And yes, AMG North America did do port and polish jobs back in 1988 at their Florida location. Their menu was very a la carte and you could get any type of performance or appearance enhancements available as long as you wrote the check.
For motor work they would either take you motor apart or order a new block and parts depending upon how aggressive you wanted to go.
Hard to tell from the description but this car looks very much like they almost got it right. The "invoice" looks like the type a dealer would add to the window sticker so it would not have all the pn and associated information. In fact, it doesn't even say it was done by AMG, only "in accordance with AMG factory procedures" -- ie "dealer installed".
Oh the clusters, I think in 88 they were block and not white, but I could never get info on what was available.
I ask that because I have seen very real AMG kits that have cut outs in the rear. I was at Renntech in Miami after the Rolex in February and was talking to Bobby about some of the 124 mods that they did back when they were AMG North America. Much of our talk was about 500E [surprise] but we also covered the many variations of the Hammer.

Buy a low mileage 88 coupe-buy a real AMG body kit, Buy Real AMG 3 piece wheels, order and have properly installed a twin turbo intercooled, port & polish the head, add exhaust any aftermarket,Buy sec style hood, Buy trunk lid spoiler, have the whole car repainted in any solid color without the stupid two tone Mercedes treatment, find a near flawless interior or have reupholstered yours and then find a correct period AMG reciept with or without Vin numbers ETC(this reciept is on a new car-probably sitting at the dealership, in those days AMG documentation was as good as mine, and mine is worse than crap) and add all your reciepts together then put the car up for sale, if you come out anywhere near $15,000.00 when done you probably did some back room favors for the break...hollywood madam favors...
in 1988 AMG did what ever you wanted, and they would probably port & polish your A88 hole if you had enough cash or was someone that could spread the word about how great the service was.....
I have 3 AMG invoices dated between 1976 and 1994 1 has a vin number, none have plate numbers and 1 does not even list what model, none list any part numbers at all
My 1976 6.9 had an AMG invoice under the rear power seat for a full body kit and exhaust..no Vin number,no plate just a date and model "6.9" I have no idea if my car is the car for the invoice and no way of finding out, so even though it is rear to have a 6.9 with power seats I cut the darn car up and made a roadster who cares....Some of you guys/girls 15K tied up in a 300e sedan-counting cost of car and all the mods-but this guy should sell his car for $10k please...The most desirable W124's the ones that are the most expensive as of today and last time I checked 500e/Cabriolet is a toss up, coupes are 2nd everything else falls 3rd and keep going down

i thought he sold it tho
