Cabrio Top Problem

Hopefully this is a simple fix.
About 2 weeks ago I pulled my car out of hibernation. Put the top down to take it to my cousins for the big conversion. Got there put the top up.
Since then the top will not come down.
It seems that the latch that hold the top in place closest to the trunk will not disengage. The usual routine of the windows going down happen, so I'm assuming the switch works, it's just the rear portion of the top is not doing its thing.
Any ideas?

Are your rear headrests up? If so push the headrest button up till you hear a click than push down and they should retract, sometimes if they are deployed in what the car feels was an emergency you need to "reset" them to get the top to work.

My other suggestion is to make sure you push up on the front of the top before you push the button on the center console area.

If that doesn't work, go to the manual method in your manual and make sure no latches are stuck.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Headrests are both down. I did push the top up in the front. I'll check out the manual method.

In the mean time any other suggestions?

Very Slow Mercedes
Check hydraulic fluid level- for the top
Disconnect top control unit under rear seat for a few minutes and reconnect...then try again with all windows up and roll bars down.

Fluid level is good. I always put the top up and down with car on.
Just checked for codes and this is what I got
3 - Normal operating time exceeded
9 - Soft top fabric bow "down", limit switch
16 - Roll bar "extended, limit switch
Any ideas where these items are and code 3 has me puzzled.

I haven't had a chance to undo the control unit under the seat. Foolish me I changed my seats to racing buckets, and they don't have the access that the stock ones do with the top in place.
