Well to begin with, turn away from Sony Xplod. They were good when they came out, now they are probably one of the worst in the market and that is not my opinion. Every store I go to, asks me to stay away from them.
Alpine or Pioneer would probably be a better bet !!

everything i have in my car is sony xplod.i love it. my amp, subs,cd deck.and not a single problem,i have had diamond audio, pioneer etc... sony is # in my book, there prices are cheap and the subs hit harder then many of my friends subs etc...but any ways , i just want to know if i get a dvd player for my car is there any issues do to the angle of the stereo slot of the 300e? in other words is the screen going to have enough clearence?

there shouldnt be an issue, because my sony screen tilts forwards..so it will face flat on the climate controls, the only thing is the actual unit in the din may have to sit a bit more forward than a usual cd player.
got some pics for ya hope it helps.

that's very similar to what i have, a front-loading dvd player/tv flip-out. mine's a no-name from ebay though, but does the job...!
