Symptoms of a bad EZL
I was going through some trouble shooting sites and from the ones I could find the EZL is an ideal candidate for ignition type problems. My EZL isn't preventing my car from starting or driving but on occasion when I turn the key onto the ON position a clicking noise begins to emerge from the engine. It ceases when I'm cranking on the ignition but once the car has started it resumes itself. It doesn't in any way prevent the car from running or hinder its performance but if I can fix it I will. When the clicking noise has presented itself I inspected the engine bay in an attempt to locate it and it appears to be in the vicinity behind the A/C compressor and under the intake manifold. I've cleaned and re-lubed the throttle linkages in an attempt to fix it but no go. The weird thing is if you step on the brake it stops. Does anyone know if I'm headed in the right direction and if not could you help me troubleshoot this thing. Thanks.

The a/c hasn't been working for quite some time. I have no idea if it is related to the fast clicking noise I'm trying to locate. Some days I'll start the car without a hiccup and on other days no matter what I do the clicking just keeps coming back.

Listen near the water pump first as it could be a bearing going bad.
Try near the A/C compressor as they will click on and off frequently in normal operation.
Look for any vacuum leaks.
