Dude, RBYCC, your awesome. Im going to have to drill you with questions when I get back stateside. I think its time I give the 300ce some money :C What little money I can offer lol. On a stock m104, would doing things like the under-light mesh and diesel fenders help performance/mileage? How about the cooler harness? Or perhaps trying to mimic the m119 intake setup and get 2 intake tubes in the engine bay, not just the one. Are you going to drag your 300ce? Get some numbas

Where are you in New Jersey?
I'm only about 25 miles from Cape May via the ferry....you might want to take a ride and visit the Delaware and Maryland resort areas...!
Drag my 300CE....probably not...I just purchased a new G-TECH SS unit which can get me failrly close to track numbers.

Your car is looking very nice. ![thumbs](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
I'd be interested in your Gtech numbers once you've got them. I'll probably get one of these units once my car is up and running.

Im north-central jersey, by Bridgewater (Somerset County). If I had money to buy parts and whatnot, I would drive on down and do an install meet :P I hope you get some fun numbers with that unit. Why not the drag-strip? I did it last summer and it was quite fun! (Though I got mercilessly spanked)

New models has a three axis accelerometer so they are not sensitive to mounting position.
Major difference was removing the supplied Fram air filter and replacing with a high flow K&N.
Upon inspection the Fram filter which is twice the depth of the K&N was partially blocking the lower air intake of the filter housing.
Seat of the pants estimate is putting out more then 10% additional power primarily low end.
I'll post some results

There is a drag strip less then forty five minutes from my house.
Was going to take my C6 down in the spring but there were a lot of cancellations due to wet weather.
I'm not a stranger to drag strips....

Things are a lot different now at the strip. It's no longer American Muscle that steals the show, it's people in hatchback Ek9's pulling high 9's. It's sad really.

HOW MANY WORDS CAN I USE IN THIS POST

Things change, but remain the same...
![crazy](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/crazy.gif)
Being of the muscle car era and owning some very hot stuff back then, I regretfully must admit that even a Toyota Camry or Nissan Sentry with a V6 is faster then most cars of the era !!!
Just look at the road tests from the sixties and seventies which will confirm this as fact !
Young guys now like to slam cars down to the ground to emulate DTM cars.
We used extended shackles on the rear and coil spring spacers or turn up the Mopar torsion bars on the front to look like "funny cars".
Would run 5.12:1 gears on the street and get about 5 miles to the gallon, but remember Sunoco 260 was about $0.32 per gallon.
Thing that I miss the most and that the current generation of car modifiers can't realize is the ability to work on a basic engine without electronics.
Took a lot more skill and trial and error to make a car go fast.
That's what I like about the M103 motor....minimum electronics !!!
I still prefer the sound of "American Muscle".....used to vibrate the ground around the car !!!
THE END

It's vacation time down here...most local roads stay crowded until after Labor Day !!!!
Did some rural back road driving two weeks ago and it winds up surprisingly fast and the handling is well balanced......
Unleashed some more power by changing the provided Fram pleated paper air filter which blocked part of the intake opening to a K&N.

Haven't had any road to try it with this change, but seems to have much more low end power and response.
I ordered a G-Tech SS meter that should arrive within this week....
Will do some 0-60 and if I can find a sizeable hole in the traffic, attempt a 1/4 mile run....
Extremely satisfied with the install and making more power then I imagined....and even jumping on it for the first tankful, I'm getting about 22MPG ( Like I care

After I finish the new rigid intake piping I would like to do some pulls on a DynoJet to compare with the Mustang.
Problem is that because this is a combination of resort/rural area the closest dyno may be north in Philadelphia about two hours away.
I just got the G-Tech meter late yesterday which will give me a fairly accurate idea of "real world" performance.
I'll probably fool with it on Saturday and take the car out very early Sunday morning before the vacationers head to the beach !!!

Probably bump it to 3700 for a full tank of gas. !
I have the G-tech installed and setup, all I need now is some clear road.
![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
There is a stretch of divided highway a few miles south of my house.
Perfectly straight, ocean on one side, bay on the other and about three miles long until you reach the inlet bridge.
No cross streets as both sides are State park lands....
In the winter or off holiday season the road is relatively clear.
Drove down today but no gaps in traffic that would allow a launch.
