I had the one for $65. It was a cheap plastic piece of crap, I wasn't too impressed with it. You get what you pay for.

I have the first one but for the older grills. I like it on my car even though it came in a gray plastic.

I purchased mine from the ebay seller "Katmac" and I was pleased with the quality of the item. Hope that helps.

I just bought one of those S600 grills on ebay. The quality sucks. It's all plastic. There is overspray of black paint on the chromed areas, and there is some areas that should have been painted black, but are still chrome. If you are picky about your car, avoid these ebay grills.

Jerry, please link to the seller we should avoid. A number of us have them and it seems to be hit or miss when it comes to quality.

RYBCC has gotten what I think was the best quality one to date. Maybe his seller is still available.

The seller's username is redcometm3. I am waiting to see if I get a full refund. So far, he has asked me to pay shipping back to him, and he has not offered refund of the insurance, but I am waiting on a response.

If someone out there has a source for a high quality version of the S600 grill, please pass it on.

I bought one about three years ago, thin black plastic, poor fit and the ends started to break loose.

The last three that I purchased ( W124 pre facelift and facelift and W202 ) were all from the same EBAY seller in China "redcometm3 " and were $65.00 + $20.00 shipping.
I had no problems, possibly quality has changed ?

The preface lift was a heavy plastic with a color match almost to my cladding.

Last purchase was the facelift cab in July 08 and satisfied with the quallity !

Hmmm, same guy, but the paint is flat black on mine, and it is messy. I asked him about the grill before buying, and he said his new shipment was coming in flat black rather than the previous color. My luck he changed suppliers or got some lesser quality right when I buy. I guess I'll see what he comes up with for a solution.

That's a problem...sounds like the one I bought originally from another vendor.
I found him to be honest in his dealings so hopefully you'll get straightened out.

The three I bought were all within about a seven month period and of similar quality.

It was sanded down to rough it up, then an etching type primer and professionally shot with Glasurit paint.

Looks really good!
I've got a spare complete grill, I'll probably strip it one day and try the same procedure. The car is black so a black grill should look good.
A friend of mine owns a bodyshop so I can use all the tools and I might as well order more paint and to all the mouldings (the cladding) the two front wings (fenders) and the A post at the same time

I just bought a grille from that guy a week or so ago

I got it for like $80 with free shipping, the quality is decent for the price and the only fitment issue is that the very top center of the grille is recessed about a quarter inch more than the stock one but i am the only who notices, other than they it looks great imo, here is a pic with it on from my cell phone

So I had to go through a Paypal dispute to recover my money from redcometm3 for the crappily painted grill. I paid return shipping to him and did not get that refunded. I just went to ebay to leave negative feedback due to the poor quality and the cost to me, and apparently eBay and paypal have linked up the auctions. If paypal refunds, the buyer cannot leave feedback on the item. What a crock! So much for accurate feedback. I ended up paying eleven bucks and change to look at a *****ty product.
