Seat Belt Warning Light Intermittent
In my 1987 300D the seat belt warning light comes on while driving (when I am belted in). I have replaced the overhead courtesy light console this is housed in, and checked the wiring in the area.
Also this occurs more when wet/damp outside. I suspect a short in the wiring circuit, but wanted to hear if others have had this problem and what a possible solution may be (before I remove the bulbs permanently).
Thanks
Carl

I experienced the same thing for some years, every once or while. Checked everything, could not even reproduce the appearance when I wanted it. May be the whether conditions are the problem. I have my cell phone under strong suspicion. No fix that I know of.

Does the courtesy light comes on with the warning light, even for a moment?
Does the warning light work properly otherwise? That is, does it blink for about 15~20 sec when you open the door, and then turns off?
Did you check your door switch for rust/false contact?
