Question Serious W124 Problems

I want to start off by saying I love my 1994 E420. I bought her last year with 113K and in immaculate condition. She now has 134K.

Now that I have that off of my chest, below is a list of problems (all within the last 6 months) and any troubleshooting/replacement I have performed:

A/C Blower not working (replaced fuses to aluminum type, also replaced 30A strip fuse, still nothing.

Turning signals only work when my rear defrost is on.

Brake lights replaced several times, one dimer than the other.

Back up lights stopped working all together (again, replaced #7 fuse, to no avail).

Twice in 6 months I have had to replace the fuse for my power windows.

Okay, are these problems interrelated at all? Or is my obsession with the W124 finally catching up with me?

Probably one of your wires shorting out. I just replaced the total wiring for one of my windows that the plastic coating had some off of. It was a fun job tracing and replacing wire from the rear passenger all the way to the window switches in the middle console. It takes allot of patience.

Okay, I took a look at the wiring harness, and for the most part it looks fine. I mean it's old, obviously, and will need to be replaced sooner or later (hopefully later rather than sooner), but all of the wires seem fine from what I can tell.

Has it been replaced at any point? They have a biodegradable insulation that will go out causing all sorts of electrical gremlins to appear. If its not cracking visibly then your probably all right for the moment.

Two owners, I am the second, and it has never been replaced. I bought and had installed a CD player from Best Buy installed in December, but other than that nothing has been fooled with. No major repairs, just regular service and maintenance.

BLOWER - Most Likely the blower regulator or a seized fan motor. Both very common on the w124.

The harness that runs through the door is commonly damaged due to opening a closing of doors. The insulation falls off and the wires touch one another shorting out the circuit.

I thought it might be. But what about the rest of the weird electrical problems?

It's on the top of the engine under a plastic cover to the driver's side of the valve cover ( and it goes all over the place)
