W124 Renovation.
I was just wondering, cause I wanted a new car but.. I don't really want to get stuck with $400-$500 a month payments for 5 years.. So I thought of an alternative, would $10,000 be enough to pretty much give a W124 about 10yrs/100k miles of life? I don't have many problems at all whatsoever. I calculated and payments would be about $275 a month. You guys think it's a good idea or not? $10,000 SHOULD be enough to replace alot of stuff right? Or am I just dreaming?

Very Slow Mercedes
perhaps=I have a silver coupe here that a friend paid $7,000.
Over $8,000.00 worth mechanical work completed recently as in last 2000 miles...rebuilt head, new injector, new radiator, new waterpump, thermostat, all new hoses and I mean all,new driveshaft flex discs, all new rear suspension arms, new rear shocks,4 new 225/40/18 tires, new belt and belt tensioner and the list goes on...yet it needs compressor and related a/c work and driver side air bag--so all said and done there went $10,000.00...this is a 3.0 twin cam.....
What a steal--I feel like an idoit for not buying this car...I have a perfect burgundy euro interior with all the carbon fiber accents it would look top notch I have already slapped myself...

Preference would be a coupe for better return on investment.
But you will end up with a great daily driver that still looks expensive and will go as many years and miles that you can afford to make it go !!!

If the car is clean and has been maintained then it's worth the investment.
