From the E-class owner's bible:

ATF: 6.5 qts (6.2 litres)
Rear axle: 1.16 qts (1.1 litres)

Remember that if you're not using a flush system like in the shops you're not going to be able to remove all 6.2 quarts of tranny fluid out. The torque converter on average holds about a quart of fluid.

I am chagning my tranny cooler lines and my fluid and filter this weekend, I think I am going for Royal Purple or some sinthetic. I had royal purple in my rear diff in the 400E and it made a difference in mileage.

Where's a good place online to get Royal Purple - I'm going with that on next ATF service.

Dexron/Mercon III for trans, 75w-90 for your diffs.
