Question Hard start when hot 300E

I have a 300 E that sometimes won't start when it gets warmed up after driving a while. You have to let it cool down and it starts just fine. Any suggestions on where to begin?

Fairly common with M103 engine (pre '93). Us the Search function and you will find a very lengthy thread on this topic.

I assume you use premium fuel? Standard fuel makes this problem worse because it will vapor lock at a lower temperature. Also, try holding the accelerator down 1/4 -1/2 way if it doesn't start after 5 seconds.
