Very Slow Mercedes
"coupe convertible" he might have the only 1...but the 2 door coonvertible 1993-1996 W124 seems sketchy at best,I have been told 3700 cabriolets were built for the world, but that seems low..would be great if someone found out for sure...1995 was the last year available new in the states, other parts of the world 1996 was the last year then the CLK took over...I think these cars have great collector value in the future,I have been offered recently a 2002 CLK Cabriolet black/black AMG options for my 4 cyl-no way and my car has way too many aftermarket parts to be considered collectable now or in the future but my mileage is somewhat low at 81,000 documented from when delivered new in germany...

Total imports for the US market over the 3 years was around 6000 units. I have the exact figures for each year at home...first year was not too many, like 6 or 700.

I have no idea how many cars were built total but I'm sure its not a whole lot, 15-30,000 cars maybe would be my guess(?) Maybe MBCA customer service knows....will give a call, I want to anyway to get a copy of the window sticker.

This is strange that I just found, my build date for the car was in 12/95, making it almost a 1996 car (?)

I have found some numbers, or rather a friend that works at MBUSA Corporate did. MB Customer Service 1-800 number was use-less btw. I am way wrong about the total numbers too I'm sure but I have yet to find the count on the 94 and 95 models.

1990 2 cars
1991 16
1992 4469
1993 1856

the 1992 car listed at 99,600 Dmarks
the 1993 car in the US listed for $76,500

No mention of a 4 cylinder turbo model anywhere though...only the automatic 6 cylinder (M104).

1994 e320 coupe sportline
while your checking

hello jim
while you are checking US car totals
I have always wondered how many of the type i drive were imported to the states

1994 E320 coupe "sportline"

i have never seen a 500E up close but a lot of the features of this car sure look close to the style of the e320 coupe

if you can get the sportline numbers I would appreciate

hal

1995 E320 Kombi, 2006 R350 Pewter/Black
The W124 Convertable (A124) was introduced at the 1991 Frankfurt Auto show. It was built worldwide from 1992-1997 with at total of 33,952 sold, this includes the E220 and E36, neither of which were sold in the states.
In America 766 were sold in 1993 - 300CE.
1698 in 1994 - E320
3676 in 1995 - E320

American Dealers were also brining in cars from Canada and disableing the daytime running lights to keep up with demand, these cars would not show up in the offical numbers below.

I do not have any stats on the Sportsline version, suffice to say there were not many.
