Gen1 or Gen2 Bodykit

I've finally decided to get a body kit for my 300E (pre-facelift model) but I cant decide between the AMG gen1 kit or gen2 kit????

Also the kit will be accompanied by 17" Aero I's on the car.

Here are some pics:
Gen2 -

Gen1 -

I say for pre-facelift cars, Gen 1 is best, more period looking.

All I can say is... Good Luck!

Getting the AMG GenI front bumper or complete kit for that matter.

Eliot, it's confirmed.

Why do you have to be such a Debbie Downer every time someone asks about AMG or FWALD? It's not like you CAN'T ever find those kits again...there are NOS and used kits available everywhere. Your smarta$$ comments about these things gets annoying.

As for the question, either kit is good but if you are doing mono I's I'd do the gen 1 kit.

I have the gen 2 front and ducktail but the more I look at the pics I kinda prefer gen 1!

Good luck!

Be kind Don Diego,

It's a syndrome called "Body Kit Envy".....sometimes common in pre-pubescent males who envy not only what others have, but what they desire.

The cure can be only had with time when the afflicted soul discovers that the world does not revolve around him !!!

If you can't find the real thing, then find a quality repro....
In the case of body kits they were after all "after market" parts !!!
Use of Repros are quite common in restoration / modification of older vehicles and it doesn't lessen the value.
Only to look at what "Repro" Muscle Cars have been fetching at Barrett Jackson !!!

I like Gen I with pre face lift...maintains the "boxy" look

Yaeh, if I ever could afford/find a kit of the two, I would go GenI with the pre-facelift. It has a very aggressive look to it, and it suits the car well.

You're pathetic.

yes, I have "body kit envy." Especially when I have a complete GenII kit sitting in my back yard.

Also, As for your statement in another thread. I did source the AMG CE ducktail but why would I hook you up when I don't know you and could careless for? I was definitely being "shady" there.

Nice place to keep it, don't you have a garage ???

First the word was "shaky", not "shady"...and if you recall you offered it and I accepted...but does it really matter ?

this guy quoted me a price of ~$4300 for a gen 2 kit shipped. not sure if they still have them or whatever, but the link still works... you have to log on to see the pics. he apparently had the gen 1 and gen 2 kits, but again, you would have to contact him about availability/price/authenicity/etc.

WTF, do I look like your servant? I have nothing to prove to you, they ARE out there. Do you think you know of every kit in existence? There were 2 at dealers in Canada after you said there were only two left in germany a while back....kinda disproves your point, no?
