I also say go for the color match, if you are putting a kit on the car to get a modern/sporty look you do not want 2 colors on the car. by the way white kicks ***!! Have fun keeping the car clean though...

pete, it came to about 1300 all in.
yeah, i've really been going back and forth on the two tone thing in my head, but i think i'm going to stick with it... i know it will look a little more dated and maybe a little less sporty, but i kind of like the two colors, it's just so 'w124' to me. i pretty much never take her over 80mph, so there won't be any performance mods coming. she's simply a cruiser, but i want it to look a certain way... like RBYCC had said earlier, i want to get it to where it looks different from stock, but you're really not sure why! also, my cladding is not the darker gray, so the contrast is not too insane. if i'm not happy i'll get it painted to white later on.
now let's see if i can put it on before 2008!

imo, since its a conservative kit, id keep it 2 tone.
some cars look better 2 tone, as i think yours would.

mine, on the other hand, wouldnt have looked so good with the lines of the kit the way they are.

I agree, the Wald EX is closer in design to the "chisled" look and subtle rounded edges of the vehicle.
Almost looks factory.
Even in the stock body cladding color the kit is not obvious to the untrained eye.
AMG's a bit squarer and more aggressive and needs to blend in with the body color !

Thanks !!!

The spoiler was more for "go", then "show".

Notice the tow hook cover is missing behind the Wald spoiler.
This area matches up to my intake/intercooler plenum below the head light.

Wald ( Wald replica ) spoiler is the only one that just about perfectly matched the turbo air/intercooler intake.

Same here Eliot so don't feel to bad.

My only problem delaying the whole process is deciding on what color to respray the car and kit as well.

Thinking of a full strip down and repaint? I'd love to do it but its a bit out of my budget. There were shops that gave me reasonable quotes for that but I'm not sure I'd trust them. Post me when you get some progress though I'd like to hear about it.

Ordered my wheels this week.

Yeah, There are quite a few burn spots in the clear coat and etc that really bug me. Also, I'm pretty **** about these kind of things and I know if I just paint the kit it won't match completely with the rest of the car especially since it's black and plus I'm molding the ducktail to the trunk.

So, complete full strip down of the car and repaint. Although, I can't decide on the paint color. It's either going to be 9040 Black or go for something different such as Designo Graphite which I'm leading towards. thoughts?

Also, My apologies for not getting back to you on the wheels Eliot. I don't work at House of Imports anymore so I can't get deals for others unfortunately.

My 040 is single stage, did they change to a clear coat in 95?

Yep, solid red looks soooo much better. Is that a strip of tape on the top of each headlight?

It's part of the optics in the lens picking up a reflection....

paint the body cladding white to match the rest of the body.

This will make the car look newer and lower to the ground.

Zedstyle, how much did the kit cost? where did u buy it from?
How much just for the front spoiler?

Anyone know how much for a AMG gen II front spoiler? and where would you buy it from?

$1,300 estimate just for the Front bumper.

But that includes all the necessary hardware, foglights and misc pieces.

Don't know of any websites for a brand new one. You can get them through your dealer if you can convince them to order it.
