Did any w124's come with a 5 speed manual transmission?

89 300TE, and 68 280sel
only in this country for a year or two in the mid 80's. You can convert without much fuss(I have done it before on another mercedes and plan to do it on my TE)

Your tranny is most likely just needing some adjusting and is not in trouble. Don't worry.

in europe this w124 are available with 5speed manuals:200E,220E,230E,260E,300E,300E-24V,280E,320E and also these with diesel engines.

The MB Technical Data Passenger Cars manual (October 1993 edition) gives all models available with the 717 5-speed manual transmission, apart from the 300 turbodiesels and the 420 and 500 V8 models.
