Electrical Gremlins in '90 300D

Recently I've had a few electrical oddities pop up & I'm hoping for some direction / thoughts / ideas.

First, the outside temp used to read very accurately; over a short period, it began creeping up... now it always reads +112F to +182F. This is even early in the morning when I first start the car & it's mid-60's out.

Shortly after that happened, the heater decided to turn on full blast at random. I'm having the mono valve relpaced this week but am wondering if could be the controller/eletrical & not the valve.

In the low setting the a/c fan has always jumped to a higher speed momentarily at random. I've cleaned the switch but had no luck.

I've replaced all fuses with ones that are supposed to resist corrosion, but that was well before the temp gauge & heater issue.

I'm thinking short, but haven't a CLUE where to start looking.

Any ideas?

thanks!
