How do I check M119 motor mounts.

I have a 400E that has the drumbing at high speeds. Thought it was tires. NOT. So I think it maybe the motor mounts. They don't look collapsed. Any way to check them??

I would also check your flex disks.

They are OK. I know how to check them. Just need a definitive way to check the mounts. They haven't leaked yet....but the engine does seem to "rock" on power application.

Pop the hood and start the engine.

Shift into neutral and rev up.

Is the engine stable or is it rocking back and forth with the torque?

It doesn't move back and forth but it does twist to the right, pass. side.

It doesn't move side to side? Must not be your motor mounts then fornunately.

My car is due for a change in motor mounts right now. It's bugging the crap out of me.

One could be out. Examine it up close and see if its collapsed on itself.

There is a MB tech memo that describes how to measure the mounts to see if they are collapsing/done... I will try to find it and post.
