1993 Mercedes 300e 4-matic (m103 motor)

wiring harness

I was under the fuse box and relay panel trackign down a corrodded wire and in the harness i found a glob of like grey putty on the wires and wrapped in electrical tape. Is this factory or what?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think that means the harness was replaced. That would be a GOOD thing.

with 180k i woudl hope it would be replaced. I was just hoping the previouse owner didnt just rig up some thing. But if some oen else has heard of this than good

. anyone know the reasoning?

Mine doesn't have any globs on it and both harnesses were replaced in July when I got my wagon.

Got a pic of the offending goo?

Good luck searching through the thousands of posts on "Wiring Harness", but I read about this gray stuff in another post here. They said it was probably from an indy who replaced the harness. Does the harness seem like it's in good shape?
