noobie help
New 124 owner + first post... and like many noobs I'm going to ask the stupid wheel question--sorry. This is for my '95 E300. Can anyone tell me whether there'd be any issues mounting 8.5x17 rims with a 30mm offset? Tires are 225/45 Conti. The 30mm has me concerned.
I also have the dashlight problem. Center console entirely dark, outside temp display, vanity mirrors, rear seat window controls...actually I guess nothing lights up except the cluster! Cluster works fine *and* dimmer functions for the cluster lights. The cruise is intermittent (actually it has only worked one time--unexpectedly!) and the intermittent wiper setting is, er, intermittent...mostly not at all. Grateful for any input!

For the electrical problem, I would try checking all of the fuses first...that seems to take care of a lot of problems. Sometimes it could be that simple or a more complex, but thats the easiest and cheapest start.

8.5 is too wide for the avg W124 and 30's not a good offset. 8 max with a 35 is almost the limit...I KNOW that fits, I run 18x8 ET35 with 215's all around and it is cloooooose.
) I'll look for something a bit narrower. Love your car.
