What parts to get?
Hey guys, I'm planning a trip to Lebanon this summer to see the family back home! While Im there I thought I would get my hands on some parts for my 300E since they're cheap, and my neighbor runs a junkyard! My list so far includes:
5 speed tranny (anybody do the swap?) Might be able to get it for 1-200 bucks
maybe a 24valve engine (plug and play in my 91 300E?) a couple hundred bucks
1 piece headlights
E320 style tail lights
A couple dizzy caps, and plugs, wires,
Thats all I can think of right now, what do guys recommend I bring ?
I'm thinking of bringing a w123 230E, if I can find one, and shipping it in a container with the parts. If not I will just ship the parts

my god if I could get my hands on a 16V 5 speed 190E tranny.......lord!! haha. The swap is possible for 5 speed, people have done it. Not so sure about plug and play with the 24V maybe if you pull all the electrics with it possibly. Be glad you have that stuff avaliable to you, and for cheap. In the USA we dont get opportunities like that.
