New Guy Here From England....what do you think of my ride??

been skulking for a while, and asking a few questions...so thought i'd post a couple of pictures of my ride

so here you go. Its my 200te W124. needs a few little jobs doing. Sorted the cold start issue, just had it serviced too, so thats up to date..it has a full Mercedes service history, and three owners from new (one for 16 years). Gone for the German Look ride, as you can see its been lowered a wee bit..and that tow bar acts as a good exhaust guard from the speed bumps. Lets just say i think i got a bargain!! Doing a full leather interior conversion, and putting electric windows in the rear. Also thinking of changing rear lenses to crystal style, with projector front lights. Minimal bodywork required...just need a stereo (but thinking of doing a full mobile PC install etc but haven't decided yet).

what do you think?

I keep spare UK plates in the car just in case of the old bill!!

All comments welcome, good and bad

lots of cars
Pretty nice wagon you got there. I wish i could get ahold of all the parts on ebay.co.uk. You should change the rear lenses and keep the euro front but those projectors are nice too. I would also update the hood to a 94-95 style hood after getting the projectors.

What is that thing in the middle of the rear bumper?

I did build a mobile pc for my car using a VIA mini ITX motherboard and a liliput screen but I just didn't think it was useful because of the boot up time for window xp. Instead I bought a HP Ipaq that has wifi, gps, touchscreen, video out to my 7" monitor, plays mp3, divx, and has a 8gb sd card. I only drive 30 min to work so I didn't need a whole mobile pc in my car.

the on board PC i'm looking at is a cut down system that is tailored for cars, it books up fully in 45 seconds, i would use it as a media centre, run all my tunes from it and run mobile internet through wifi, and run new sat nav and run through a 7" retractable tft touch screen.

that thing is the read tow bar (towing hitch) with the rubber guard on it

lights will be after christmas, dont know the difference between the hood/bonnet on the facelift and mine yet, need to do more research

45 sec i think is still too long... I've been able to boot up faster than that on a stripped version of xp but i want something more like instant on. Go to the mp3car.com forums to check out more info on mobile computers.

This is what the upated version looks like

Welcome to the club. You could be one of the Kombi Uber Alles members I am digging the dark amg rims, they look great with the lower body cladding. Dark rims are where it is at, but then again I am biased since mine are representing the dark side as well.

Keep the stock headlights. The car looks much better this way and not like a hot hatch or ricer as we call them here in the states. I am eager to see what the crystal rear lights would look like, I have been tempted myself but am happy for now with the amber smoked on my stock lenses.

keep us posted with new pics

RE: mobile PC... just get a Mac Laptop and hook it up to your stereo, that's workin great for me

Very nice wagon my friend! cheers!

I would suggest a can of NIGHTSHADES to smoke out your rear lights it would do wonders to the rear of your car and updated it by a good 4-5 years.

I wouldn't recommend niteshades.....I also suggest you don't sand your tail lights with anything less than 800grit ...I didn't sand mine at all.
